Online education can help to reduce stimga

Despite the internet occasionally being the source of stigma, it can also be an amazing platform for educating people about mental health and supporting others.

As well as the websites of mental health charities there are many videos, blogs and twitter accounts who use the internet as a platform for sharing experiences, supporting others and aiming to reduce the stigma that they face.

I thought it would be nice to share a few of theses via our blog as a way to show peoples support and experiences.

The first one I wanted to share was a video made by ‘Time to Change’ which shows five young people sharing their experiences with mental health and the stigma they faced from others.

There will be another blog post soon sharing more interesting internet content. Don’t forget to take a look at the photos from this year’s mental health awareness day which can be found on our homepage. Despite the rainy weather, many people joined us to pledge their support in stamping out mental health stigma.
